I think it may be a cpu issue, probably some outdated solder ball beneath, but when you want to known that for sure than you can better do a test with a fan, and let blowing to the cpu.

Thanks for the quick answer. Didn't lead to success, unfortunately.

In that case it will be hard to find this error.

If it is not due to the reception signal strength, or due to a bad LNB input port, then it can be caused by various things such as the memory, or the nand flash chip.

I assume that you have already tried it with other software, so the satellite settings and reception are checked and good.
Because these are often the first things that I normally do with problems like this.

    If the box is original
    Did u check :
    1. Power supply section and see any swelled cap around ?
    2. Which image tried last time ?
    3. try factory image then any 3rd party image

    Code:
    http://code.vuplus.com/download/boximages/30/bm750/vuplus-image-bm750-20190218010606_usb.zip
    4. If have installed any hdd remove it and then check
    5. Have u tried to send its boot loader again and then factory default and again install any pli image.

    .
Try the above tips and report back . if the above tips doesnt work then u must have an cpu issue.

Thank you for the advice. The original works now.
Unfortunately, I have the problem with other images or skins. Can it still be a memory problem?

Could be, but changing a skin may give some issues, but it can also be caused when the nand flash chip has some problems and the skin mb's size is big.
I think, best way to find it is to use a image file with a high mb size, and when that gives issues, to test it with a image file with a lower mb's size.
But of course it can also be tested by adding some plugins, or a high design skin.

When it gives problems, them it could be a nand flash chip issue.
Replacing for a new one is then often the solution.

I have a similar problem. Mine, sometimes after one minutes, sometimes after 20 minutes, gives me "service not found" error, or no image with sound, like your error.

The best way to use it, in my case, is using the oldest OpenPLI 4 image. Only with this image I have almost no problem. Never undestand why it works better only with this image. I've swapped all the caps (@Johnny B. gave me a huge help in doing this), and tried a lot of images. Nothing worked. Only using that OpenPLI release. I don't remember the release number, if you need it, I'll check.

Also, I've updated with a newer one and now the feeds for the OpenPLI 4 are off, so I can't download anymore USB DTT drivers... :-(

BTW, I have another original VU DUO that works fine with any image.

Yes it could be if the box's security chip is old or not updated. if you have the ferrari clone like V2 or V3 then you must need to update its security chip .
there are number of posts from Toy soft and Johnny which shows how to change and why you need to update the security chip . After that you can easily update or change any new image.

Even a original may have a sort of security chip, thinking of a 5p small chip, a sot23-5.
But when it's working on old software, which is often a lower file size than the new, then I'm thinking of the nand flash chip, to many bad sectors.
But also, I think it may happen that some sectors of the nand chip are marked as bad while it still reads from it, but can't write to it.
Then you stay stuck on the piece of software from what's on it, and by flashing it with newer software, or others, it failed because there is still old data on it, it then only works after the old software upload because that is compatible with the old data..

In any case, I mostly replace the nand flash chip to see if it solves the issue.

Are you sure your box has the latest CFE that allow larger images ? Some old Original boxes probably still were not upgraded to the latest CFE/Bootloader.

Yes, it has the latest bootloader. Tomorrow I'll try to upload the latest bootloader again before flashing a new image.

Is there any way to check if nand is good or not without desoldering it?

Good, as it could have been corrupted, we never know, for other boxes like GigaBlue, some people gave the tip to upload the bootloader again due to some problems (audio/video) and unstability of the box.

Probably JTAG is the only way, dumping the Flash and checking the content of the dump.

Ok, so I'll upload bootloader again, then flash a fresh image and then see what happens.

    Thanks, @toysoft !

In the meanwhile, I'll wait for @Johnny B. about checking the NAND without desoldering it ;-)

About checking the nand without removing it?
If there are some telnet commands, or a vu+ plugin, or serial tool for it, I don't know, in any case never find one.
Thus, sorry to say, but I have no ideas howto do that, I always remove them and checked them with a nand flash programmer.

    This maybe?

    EDIT: I've found this: http://www.i-have-a-dreambox.com/wb...90&threadview=0&hilight=&hilightuser=0&page=1

I'm running it on my VU+ DUO...

    The output is:

    nand_check /dev/mtd0

    Flash type is 4
Block size 131072, page size 2048, OOB size 64
    123731968 bytes, 944 blocks
