Receivers that still use this tuner are quite old, but still alive with the many owners who still own one.
So very annoying when the tuner suddenly gives the known no signal problem while you are sure that the dish and cables are not the cause.

Then it can often help to do the 1000uf cap mod, but also the replacement of all 22uf / 16v caps.
Even better is to replace it for the 226c smd capacitor as I often do.

Like this ALPS BSBE2-401A RevK tuner, it still looks good, but it had the no signal problem.

Here I removed all caps and cleaned it.

And here you see the end result, with all new 22uf/16v 226C smd capacitor, and the 1000uf/16v modification.

Is this always THE solution to this problem.
Often yes, but of course not always.
But I still get them in repair every now and then, and often with a bad, leaking or outdated cap, sometimes just one, but often more than one.
In any case, it's a good start to recap the caps before continuing to search why it no longer works.

The way I always remove the old caps, you can see here on youtube,
Electrolytic Capacitor Removal NO Desoldering Required.
See at 1:40 how it can be done.

    Nice and informative always .
Kindly share your experience with Alps M 801A tuner also . I see still this tuner ( M801A) workable with Dm 800se , Dm 820 and Dm 7020,7080 series . peoples are using due to its sharp signal for weak tps .

Strangely enough I had/have more often the older tuners in repair than the later Alps M 801A tuner.
But I had repaired a few in the past, and according to my notes they needed mainly new 220uf/10v caps in the Alps 801A tuner.

Best is to use surface mount caps instead of the olds, or the tuner module must be removed from the board.

But again, no guarantee that it will help for all these tuners, it's only based on my repairs of these tuners I had.

    Its a Tuner M 801A
before to changing its cap it was breaking signal and glitching over strong tp also . but after replacing the caps now its just showing signal but not storing tp even the signal is strong enough.
is it due to caps replacement . ?

It's not clear for me if you still have some issues after the re-cap, or not.
But keep in mind that the sat finder dm plugin results depends on which channel you had set it.
Also, the results it gives is not a accurate overview, nevertheless it's good enough to see some indication if there is something wrong.

As for the re-cap, it often helps to get the signal back and it become stronger and stable.
But the end result depends also on the quality caps you replace it with.
Most important thing is to use the same values as before, as also when using surface mount caps it can handle something as 125°.
