Sorry, I've never worked with the recovery option.
The first thing I did was changing the software for OpenAtv and works in my case flawless, even with the online updates.

But searching for it, I saw this topic on another forum.
    Maybe it helps you.

    I think,
    1. keep putty connected.
    2. connect network also.
    3. set the box in recovery mode and see in putty the output.
Maybe you see more as the ip request results etc.

Normally I would say, if you still have guarantee on the box make contact to your seller.
    Which is the best advice.

But since you already have opened the box you could try to remove, and reinsert the flat cables back in to the connectors.
Maybe one of the flat cable sides are not placed well, so maybe it helps.
This could be done to open up by the black strip.
Like my picture shows from the motherboard.
It presses the ribbon cable on the contacts, when open you can remove the flat cable.
Remove the cable, put it back and close the lock.
It can be clipped up with your nail or a plastic thin object, but do not use extreme force, or you could break it.

But still it's you own decision if you do it, when it goes wrong you could lose your guarantee.
