    Issue..
    * No ca found
    * No connection with dreamup
    * With the usb service port and a terminal program as Putty or Hyperterminal you're receive garbage.

This could be a hardware error.
Therefore it is wise to measure at least the L800 inductor, whether it pass.
And it's also wise to measure the two crystal pins on the print side with the dc voltages measurements, both should be the same, if not then see if replacing the crystal Y800 solves the issue.

    Good luck..

If you are sure that it's at least not due the Y800 crystal or the L800 inductor.
You can upload a boot loader and image file without problems, but it stays always on the No ca found issue.

Then it can also caused by the Q1603 4.000MHZ HCMOS SMD crystal.
You may see in a terminal program this, atr is too short which could mean that it can't read the sim card due a wrong frequency.
And if it's stuck on logo then it could be the the D901
    Q1603.JPG

In my case it was the Q1603 crystal, but this is till now my first time that it was due this 4.00000Mhz crystal.
In any case, when removed, or defect it will always give the No ca found error.

Johnny, I think this could be normal, probably that crystal is used to give the "Oscillator/Mhz" to the smartcard that needs to run at 4 Mhz or 3.57 Mhz.

"you'll have to generate a 3.57 MHz CLK signal for the card."

    Thanks for the explanation. :)
And yes indeed quite logical that it is related to the sim card frequency.
But a persistent No ca found a problem you do not immediately think of this crystal, normally you think of a software error, or the sim card, or Y800 crystal circuit.

Anyway, it gives an additional opportunity to fix it, if someone has this problem.

    Hello,
I have a problem with an other dreambox 800 Hd Se.
This box was working OK and without any intervention , at the next boot , i had this error message :
"NO CA or image " and than "BIOS NO CA FOUND".
I tried to flash the box with different softwares but i do not have any connetion with it .
I replaced the SIM 2.10 by an other one but i have still the same issue.
After that , i checked the L800 and it looks like to be OK. I did not removed the inductor from the PCB to check it but i used my multimeter to mesure it on the circuit. I have something like 1.2 Ohms which means that's not opened.
And lastly i mesured the voltage at the 2 pins of the crystal . I have 1.41 V between the pin 1 and the GND and the same value from pin 2 and the GND.

Is there someting other i have to check ? I guess this box has a hardware problem.

    Thanks in advance

Use a terminal program as putty in serial mode and use the mini usb service port to see if you get some more info about the issue.
Other idea, remove the tuner, test it without.
Install Openpli, it may boot up the box, but due a sim card reading issue the tuner may not work.
When you have a hdd connected to it, test it without.

The error you have is generally due to a defective sim (or SSL not compatible with your sim). If you are sure you flashed the right SSL for your sim, then it can be hardware but also could be the Sim.

You told you replaced the Sim 2.10 by another one, are you sure this other sim was for a DM800HDse, as if it was for a DM800HDpvr, DM500HD or DM800HDseV2, it will definitely fail and not work with a DM800HDse V1 box.

If you take your sim and it works on another DM800HDse V1, then it is OK... you should try. just to be sure.

    Hello Toysoft,
You are RIGHT once again about your remark on the sim card.
The the one i used for my test was not compatible with my dream.
Finally , i used a sim from the "same but working" Dm800 and the it solves the problem.
Thank a lot for your help ;)

One tip, as this sim is no more supported since at least 4-5 years... you could try the Japhar sim that supports the latest drivers (that include also the Combo DVB-T2 Tuner), see list below,

and latest OpenPLi 8.0Star from Japhar Team.

    TS

    a) Alps BSBE (Single Tuner, DVB-S2, BSBE2-401A)
    b) Alps BSBE2 (Single Tuner, DVB-S2, BSBE2-801A)
    c) Broadcom BCM4505 (Single Tuner, DVB-S2)
    d) Philips TU1216 (Single Tuner, DVB-T)
    e) Philips CU1216Mk3 (Single Tuner, DVB-C)
    f) Si2166B (Dual Tuner, DVB-S2)
    g) CXD1981 (TypeMultiple, DVB-C/T)
    h) Hybrid Dual Tuner (Dual Tuner, DVB-C/T2)
