The Rs232 connection to be able to write to the security chip of the vu duo mini box is different than the normal vu boxes.
So, I've made this picture to make things clear.

JB well done you, this info is not well documented elsewhere. Now if only we could be sure what code / loader to use (out of 5 boxes, 2 working) I´ve not had a response from anything as yet.

I wish you luck finding the source code for your other project

    Dave.

P:S i posted this before realizing it is a revision, yipee!

Hi Johnny, I can't get the security chip to communicate through rs232 on the motherboard.

I have removed the security chip to connect it direct to max232 board I have. I used the pinout on your other post and soldered connections to vcc, gnd, rx and tx but still no comunication. Does it require the crystal to be connected to communicate through rs232?

    Thanks

    Brian

Yes, without the crystal you get no (readable) data output
