Hello. Can you help me?i like to jtag,my vu+ duo, with an fx2lp cy7c68013a usb programmer with 2 jumper and broadcom studio3,but i dont know, what driver works with that program,my windows not recognize the programmer. Can you give me a driver, and perhaps a guide? This is the programmer: Cypress CY7C68013A EZ-USB FX2LP USB2.0 Developement Board/module https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/cLNSxgqk Sorry for my english.
Normally, after you have installed the Broadcom Studio 3 software which has the bcm97335 drivers and Net framework the Cypress CY7C68013A EZ-USB FX2LP USB2.0 Developement Board should connect and recognized as a broadcom test adapter. Better is, first to only connect the Cypress board to the usb port, and not to connect it to the scl/cda ports to see if the board is recognized. When it does, connect the vu scl/sda and ground the correct way and you should get a connection with the Broadcom Studio 3 software. When the scl/sda wires are wrong connected, the board will not be recognized. If there is a issue with the 3.3v on the vu board, then it will also not make a connection to the Broadcom Studio 3 software. More about it see this drawing,
When its stuck on starting, then it could be a issue with the security chip if its a clone board. Be sure yo use the correct software that is suitable for the box you have. When you are sure that you use the correct software, then it could be a bad security chip, or has some issue with it as a voltage delivery issue, check them. If it's the chip self, then upgrading to the VuJ chip may the solution. See this topic, Frontpanel, only red led or stuck on Starting.. and if it's a ferrari clone board see here for some more info. Be also sure that the famous C807 has been replaced to prevent future issues.
This is not a clone, the cfe file is duo3.0_usb.zip I try to download it to the box,and the starting is disappeard, just a red led lights. I tryed to earse the whole flash and download again, but no success
Could be but I would replace the famous C807 if its not replaced for a new one. And best is to use a 330uf 25v cap.
I replaced, that was the first, but i replaced same as the original. Is this 330uf better than the origial?do you mind, this is the problem?ill buy it tomorrow, and ill try.i brought from aliexpress a nand chip and a solder station too, just in case..,i hope,i will fix this box...
The board should work with the 220uf cap but it may fail again later, that is from my repairs experiences. This issue I have no longer when I had changed it to a 330uf/25v or 480uf/25v. But yes, renewing the nand chip is often a good idea with load/starting issues, but I normally try to see with a rs232 terminal program output why or when it stops stating up, just to see if it's worth to invest in a new nand chip.
I dont know how can i use the terminal program, but i have an rs 232 cable. Unforunately now i cant write the nand, the pc is not recognize the chip and just red led on vdf,i dont know what does it happend.
Hmm okay, is any case, even when the nand flash chip has been removed, the Broadcom Studio 3 software must still be able to make a connection to the cpu. When that failed, then it could have several reasons, One is that the software the cypress board not recognize as a test adapter. Other could be hardware, as a bad or missing 3.3v voltages, often to measure of the jtag vcc pin or other places as the psu itself. Another possibility is a cpu failure, often some outdated or at least bad connected solder balls, a reflow job may solve it when the cpu pcb board area is still flat. But this are the worse scenarios, as for the terminal thing. For this you need a rs232 null modem cable whereby the pin 2 must go to the other end pin 3 and pin 3 to 2. Also known as a rs232 serial null modem cable. The use of it is simple, just use a program as Putty or when you have a windows xp computer, use Hyperterminal. Use the basic terminal settings with exception of the Bps, use 115200
