Hi JB and everyone, I have been asked to have a look at a Duo2 stuck in boot loop. Can replacing caps cure Duo 2 problems like on the Duo 1? If so which caps do I need to look at please? Thanks. Regards, Jules.
Boot loops are often related to the software or the things that are activated at the end of the boot like the tuner(s), hdd or usb related or maybe the fan. Also often related in most cases to the 5v supply as the U825 5v output cap, or the 12v supply of the psu which is often the two 1500uf caps. Of course it can also be the CPU, but that is usually and hopefully not the case. There are also some tests you can do to see if the boot loop does not occur when the tuner is removed. if not anymore, it could be the tuner caps, or an unstable voltage on them, like the 12v/5v/3.3v. My guess, check the psu first.
Thanks for the info Johnny, as always you are very helpful. I will look into this and keep in touch. Regards, Jules.
