    Hi Johnny and everyone.
    Hope everyone is well!
As you know, with all your help I have repaired few Duos over time.
I still have this one Duo that is stuck on "starting", I have changed caps on PSU and the usual ones on the main PCB. Voltages seem to be OK. When trying to upload different FW I see that while it's reading the USB, "starting" will flash up quickly at times during upload. Does this tell us anything?
When I do eventually get some FW to install, it goes to start up but then flashes back to "starting" again.
    Any pointers please fellas?
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Jules.

No sorry I have never experience that kind op symptoms and I assume that you talking about a original board otherwise I'm thinking about some usb votage drop or else a security chip issue.
At the other hand, these Original boards do also have something similar, but that is a sot23-5 smd ic.

But what does a rs232 serial option do, is this still working and does it say something about it.

When not connecting, or receive/sending, I than always check the serial chip/module or replace it or replace only the rs232 chip to see if it's helps as also check the voltages to/from it.
When that is replaced/checked then I think of replacing the nand flash chip and when that not did not helping..
Then I'm starting to think of a cpu issue.

Thank you JB, Is it easy enough to get hold of a NAND chip?

Seems to me not a issue to buy the K9F1G08U0C-PCB0 on Ebay or Aliexpress, there are enough sellers who offer them.

    Hi JB and everyone.
    Season's greetings!!
I have yet another Duo (clone) with starting loop problem.
I have installed Buck PSU and BH 1.7.2 FW. This combination
usually works fine on a couple of other clone boxes I have had.
Initially this works fine also, but after a few hours or a day maybe,
while in standby it goes back to "starting".
My question is, could this be another cap or 2 on the main board.
I have replaced the 3 usual suspects, are there any other caps to look at replacing
that you guys know of please, that could cause this?

    Thanks again.
    Regards,
    Jules.

My first thought is when it's save to do, re-flashing the box to see if it helps because it could be caused due the software.
Or else, see, at least with a rs232 terminal output when it caused by saving the log file when receiving.

I'm not excluding that it's not a hardware issue, but these kind of faults are often hard to find, it may be time consumed.

    Thanks JB,
    A good place to start.
I think it's one to go back to from time to time.
    Will let you know.
    Regards,
    Jules.
