Hi, who knows, someone might be willing to try to fix your box. In any case, sorry to say but I do no longer repair satellite receivers that have been damaged by a lightning strike.
Johnny, I tried via Teamviewer today to connect to his DM900UHD, and then told him to post there. It's an original one. - The Frontpanel light turns on and goes Red (he told it was starting flashing). - I tried to connect with the USB Service port, that is recognized by the PC (on COM3, at 115200bps), but on the Putty console there is nothing appearing. Perhaps this could give a clue of what could be tried... TS
Yeah okay, usb service port works, but no output tells me that the usb chip works, but the communication from/to the cpu may not. In any case, when a box gives issues after some lightning strikes, then it's 99,9% that the first thing that become damaged is the cpu. It still may give some sign of life, but several function from it may fail. Nevertheless, I'm (of course) as always willing to examine the box, and to see how much damage it has. But as for the repair chances, I must say I give it less chances.
however if there is someone who can repair it he can contact me in private for shipping, unless it is a high cost
Johnny offered you to try, but if he is not successful... then nobody else would. At the worst, you will loose the post cost to send him, as if it's for Trash, there will be no interest to spend again for shipping back. TS
Okay, regarding this investigation about the damage on this DM900UHD that has broken down after a lightning strike. The owner has already been informed about my findings / measurements with this box, and now I post it as previously mentioned in this topic so that it gives a complete story instead of an open end. First I noticed that a few voltages were far too low, and the 5v below the 5vdc limit. This was not a good sign, and after measuring the ohm values between the ground and the measuring point, I noticed that 3 Dc to Dc sections have a short circuit. The 3.3v, 1.8v, 1.5v and 1v have problems so unfortunately as expected it came from a defective CPU. Now these CPUs (the BCM7252SZBKFSBB3G P21) are for sale, but still too expensive (+/- 80 euros) to consider replacing a CPU in this situation. And also because a new cpu is not always suitable from my experience, because you must have the luck that the new cpu were prepared for these type box, and also because there is a good chance that the cpu solder spots under the cpu may became damaged by a lightning strike. In any case, I have a picture that shows where things are wrong. The ones with the red frame around them are wrong, click on the picture if you want a full view.

Nice finding, Before thinking that it is, this is not a photo of the defective board but an photo of mine board which were taken in the end of 2016 as you can see here, DM900UHD Motherboard pictures. As for the pictures with these values without the extra notes, is used from here, Dm900uhd voltages measurements. All the pictures which shows this connector has this strange wire. In any case, I do have still this box and use it every day thus I assume that the wire there is non conductive but just to be sure I will take a look to it today. Just checked, and it was just a non conductive wire, probably a leg of a spider. And thanks for notice it.
