Which DVB-T2 do you have in your country ? Is it with H264 or H265 ?

Hi Toysoft, it is Dvb-T2 with H264. I am not sure about which Dvb-T2, after doing numerous searches I found the attached which may have the answer. Let me know if there isn’t, I will do further searches. Thank you

Yes, I checked in your country the DVB-T2 started in 2013, and they used the H264.

As I have no DM7020HDv2, it's difficult to test, I have only DM7020HDv1, but I would bet it's a bug on the drivers, so search for the drivers and history of each (generally the drivers are released with some infos on what was fixed), and check the newest ones, and replace them in your image... it could fix your issue, and if not try older ones, as they could have fixed adding bugs ;o)

Hi Toysoft, thank you for the advice. I have always felt this too that Dmm had placed in some bugs to cause this problem. The box have been well-kept with total care and no overly used. There are only 5 daily recording timers and a maximum of 2 hours usage on playing the recorded shows. So I am quite sure there should not be a hardware problem and looking at the photos of the Pcb should tell there is no component damages. Please tell me where are these drivers located? In which folders please? Best Regards

This is the link on a DM800HDse (v1),

    /lib/modules/3.2-dm800se/extra

So you can deduct the link where are the .ko driver files for yours,

I did another test by using a 10 inch fan blowing directly to the components and it did not freeze at all. Does this means it is the component fault?

I found 3 sets of pin connectors on the PCB, 14, 6 & 18 pins connectors as per attached. Please advise on the followings,

    1. Which connector can be used to connect a fan?

    2. Which pins should be used for the connection?

    3. The connector of the fan must have how many pins?

    4. What size of fan is most appropriate?

    5. The voltage of the fan is 12v?

    6. Wat is the maximum rated current (A) of the fan (Not to overload the power supply)?

    7. What is the maximum power (w) of the fan (Not to overload the power supply)?

    8. Which is a better fan, blow air in or suck air out?

    Thank you

    Johnny ?

Could be the termal paste on processor that dried, and so it does less it's job ? Needing then a fan to compensate the missing dissipation ?

    Fan questions...
I.m not sure if these receivers already have a fan connector, but if I should guess, and based on the older version receivers, then it has not.

    Cpu terminal paste...
And indeed, if the cpu has a heat sink then it could be related to the cpu terminal paste, but these receivers may also have not a heat sink or if they have one, then it may be difficult to remove.

    Fan ideas....
If you want to add a fan, then you can better think of using a two pins 12v fan and taking the 12v from a 12v source.
Or using a usb fan, and feeding it from a usb port (when these receivers has a usb port).

Or using a four pins fan with a temperature controlled module between it which is feeded from a 12v source, something as this,
    fan-pcb.jpg
These has a probe which you can place near the cpu and it will regulate the fan speed.
You can find them and others on aliexpress for a few dollars.
Just search for Fan Temperature Control or,
DC 12V PWM 4 Wire Line Fan Temperature Digital Control Controller

Thank you Guys, I’ll check it out in Aliexpress.

One more question, is the supply voltage at the USB output on the box is 5v? Can it power-up the fan if I am able to buy one that uses a 5v?

    Best Regards to All

Just found out, the Usb port is a 5v supply. Thank you

The Usb port has always a 5vDc output, however they are often weak to deliver a device with a high amps consumption.
Thus, when you have plan's to use the usb port from the box, then you can better use a fan which it meant to be used with a usb power source, or use a max 5v/300 mA (miliAmps) fan or at least not higher than a 5v/500 mA fan.
An higher consumption may damage the Usb voltage regulator chip.

Or else, use a external 5v power source/adapter.

Hi Guys, I found a product call ‘Freeze Spray’ (attached photo). The seller say it can solve overheating of component by spraying over all the suspected components. I am a little doubtful, what you guys think? Thank you

It's usefull to find out which component is very highly heating and could be the cause of the problem.

    Johnny could explain more,

Yeah freeze spray/cold spray may help to find a overheated/defective component as caps/ic's/cpu's etc. and or the area of where the problem may be.
In the past I used it to make a repair easier to find, nowadays I do it with a thermal camera to see a overheated part and a air compressor to lower the temp to see if it reacts to it.

But indeed, it could help to find a defective part, not always, but may be.

Thank you Guys for the answers. As I suspected, it is only able to identify and not solve the thermal issue. Best Regards to All
