    Hi,

I have a new DM500HD V2 box (original). So the problem is that I'm unable to flash new image because while I'm able to get to the bootloader (it shows IP, etc), the whole device crashes after 3-6 minutes. It doesn't matter if I'm not flashing in that moment. It happens by itself - the green frontal LED stops blinking, turns off.

I checked the LEDs on board and it seems that it goes through all stages and finally stops at stage 8 (thanks to Johny for creating this layout). So it seems that it is fine. However, one thing which keeps my thinking is that the fan is not spinning. Not at all. Should it atleast spin during startup? Could anyone confirm whether the fan is spinning when it bootloader mode.

I have a new box and thus haven't noticed whether it ever spinned before. My guess would be that is overheating (I can hold my hand against the heatsink maybe for 5 seconds before it gets quite hot).

P.S. I have tried three different power supplies, two TVs (HDMI/SCART).

Any kind of feedback is welcome.

Tomorrow I'm be able to check it, but as far as I remember must the fan running, and I know for sure that it needs to be run when you use the front push button method.
If not, than it could be a defective fan, or some issue with one of the voltages.

Cpu to hot could be due a defective cpu, or a to low voltage to it.
However, the fan is controlled by the cpu, so there is a relation between the two symptoms.

Nevertheless it's not to say what it really could be, there are many things which could cause this issue, even due the software.

Today checked but the fan is only running if it has passed the kernel command line.
I think use a terminal program as hyperterminal (windows) or putty.
Connect the service port (mini usb) to a computer and see if you receive some data from it.
    Use/choose the correct comport.
    Use bps 115200.

    Thinking further about it...
Be sure that the fan blades are free to run, if a wire or something else blocks the fan blades than the fan can't run.
Then it will produce a high amp consumption which may heat up the cpu extremely.

If that's not the case, test the box without the fan, disconnect it.
If the box works, then it seems that the fan has some issues, replace the fan for a new one, one with the same specs.

Hi, it turned out that the filesystem had been corrupted - it failed during the proccess flashing of new image. Fortunately, I gave the box to a friend who had a service cable. So, when he connected usinng COM port - usb -> mini usb, he noticed the errors.

http://pastebin.com/N7juaqJK (notice "Rebooting in 180 seconds.." - that's the reason it turned off after a while).

Later it got fixed by flashing a new image.

    Thanks for your tips, Johnny.
