Although receiver was OK, the signal could not find work correctly on certain frequencies; for example Thor 1w 12303V 8PSK. Dm800 had over the 18db and 100% snr, but vu duo could not find any TV channel. And the signal on other channels found was lower than it should have to be (10-12db instead of 14-16 db).
We changed the next capacitors; C837, C864, C852, C848, C819 and C812. All capacitors 1000 mF had between 770-860 mF. I replaced and now I signal on all frequencies. I was inspired by the forums.openpli.org.

    Thanks for giving your solution.
Another thing that could cause it is a bad L301 coil near the tuner/cpu circuit.
But this is when you have a bad signal on both tuners.

I told you that is not normal to not find any channel on Thor 1W -12303V. Is the strongest transponder from this satellite.

Sorry to reopen an old thread but im having similar problems with my vu+ duo. It works but on certain channels it either pixelates or says tune failed. Ive checked and have a good reading in my signal finder, usually about 70% snr and 100% agc then it loses the lock. Can i ask if this is what happened to you and if so can you point out which capacitors you had to change please

I waited a while to react to your question to give the time that bibic may reply to it but basically he had already given the solution in his first post by replacing the caps for new ones, and this is also often the best solution when a receiver were used for a while.
