    I buy a new dreambox 520 DVB-C/T2 box.
my first step was update the firmware for the latest one. I pick up the firmware on http://dreamboxupdate.com/
Now, the detected tuner on my box is :
    Tuner A: BCM73625 (G3) (DVB-S2)
but my dm520 has DVB-C tuner.
    I want my dm520 working on DVB-C.

I try few firmware and the result is the same. the DVB-S2 appears in the tuner settings and not the DVB-C.

I look to the boot log (connect the service port to PC) and I notice some bad blocks on NAND flash. this can cause my issue?
    I can fix that?

    (see the attached images)
    Thanks

I don't think it's related to the nandflash chip bad blocks, but rather relater to the software versus the security chip in it.

As fa I can tell, since it has the security chip instead of the sim card, then it looks to me a original box.
I think, try it with the stock image software.

This you get with the recovery mode when you connect the box to the network, and connect to a tv set, and by switching on and directly pushing the soft touch front panel button.
More about it you can read on dreambox de restoring original dm520 firmware.
Or search with google search to it.

    I already do that.
actually I use the service port (serial port) and write this commands to enter on recovery menu:

    echo rescue > /proc/stb/fp/boot_mode
    shutdown -r now

After I try online recovery, firmware upload. in both case didn't fix my issue

Yeah, that's strange, as if you use a image file from the dm525 combo.
But did you also have tried the dm520 openatv

Well, searching to dm520 dvb-c not works shows more issues with this dvd-c box.
But mainly it was with Openpli a issue, and not with OpenAtv, thus I did expect that it would help.

But in that case the box may have some hardware issue.
Now it depend of if you still have some guarantee on the box, and if the seller can /will help you for another box.
Or wait/see what Toysoft has to say.

One guy on another forum notice in my bootlog file some i2c transfer errors.
    The bootlog file is attached.

    issue: fe_common: retrying i2c transfer at adapter 1 (0x8)
I had this error issue with a dm900, and after replacing the tuner it was solved.

Thus in your case it think, it could be a issue with your onboard tuner, or the communication to it which could be a hardware issue, or software driver issue.

But.. before thinking of that, I would first try other things as Update Rescue Bootloader to see if it helps.

    thanks for all help

but for last try, do you know in the PCB where is located the i2C lines?

The I2C bus has pull-up resistors. can be some issues on these resistors. If you know where are the resistors in the PCB, I'll check if there is hardware failure.

Of course you can think of a hardware problem, as well as the idea of a defective resistor.
But as you first indicated, at least gave the impression, was that the receiver worked, and went wrong after a software update.

This gives me the first impression, and logical thoughts, that it is software related.

Or you must have the impression that this problem could have been caused by static electricity, thinking of via the tuner, or other possibility.
Then you can think more of a hardware problem, than most likely to the tuner.
And if that is, it is advisable not to mess around with a soldering iron while the box is still under warranty.

Furthermore, it seems to me that it is rare that a new receiver has a defective resistor, so I have rarely experienced a defect myself where a smd resistor is the cause.

I'm not saying impossible, but seems to me very rare and since it failed after the software upgrade.

I think it could be a driver issue which you maybe need to install separately.
Your tuner is from Samsung DNOQ44QAH109A, also known as DVB-T2/C Samsung 109A.
But normally it seems to me that most of the image files this should be support, thus my best advice, when you not can solve it with software, contact your seller.

    Thanks for your reply.
The box never works. When I bought the box, my first step was upgrade the firmware for the lasted one.

So I never see my box work.

    I'll contact the seller.

The hardware resistor is just to confirm if they are ok.

Try to use the latest OpenPLi 8.0star in your box, that contains drivers that are DM520HD/DM525HD compatibles, so your problem could just be related to old drivers, and you need to use recent ones.

Concerning the bootloader/rescue partition, I had one that I bought that was still using the first CFE one, and I had to upgrade to the newer DMM Rescue, as the CFE is not working properly (probably first one issued, in Beta).
