Hi, my DM7020HD v2 has suffered from water ingress near to the HDMI port and as a result the HDMI port no longer works but all other ports are fine including scart.

Is there any simple fix I can do to get the HDMI port working again suchbas heating the board up ? I can see some surface corrosion for information

Water corrosion to a pcb board is only simple when the damage is less.
Al trough I can only imagine how the corrosion may be without a good picture of it, it will normally cleaned with Isopropyl alcohol at least 90% or even better 99.9%.

When that did not helped you could decide to replace the hdmi connector.
But that depends if the pcb tracks for the hdmi port are still be usable, and when if needed still possible to remove/replace/solder the hdmi port for a new one on the pcb.

However, when the water damage has damaged the cpu, the hdmi section, then it will no longer reparable.

Thank you for your reply. I will try to get a picture of the damage later today. What is the technique of cleaning with isopropyl alcohol? Is it to simply spray the area and leave it to dry or rub with some tool? How do I know if the cpu hdmi side is damaged?

With Isopropyl alcohol 99.9% you can just spray, and rub it clean with a toothbrush. To be save for switching it on, wait at least an hour to dry up the alcohol.

If you really want to play it save, wait a day.

Here is a picture of the rear of the hdmi port, it looks blackened in places possibly due to a spark?

Without proper cleaning, any damage is difficult or hard to see.
My advice, first clean it well with alcohol, and then see if any damage can be repaired.

But if I see it correctly, a few pins are bad, and maybe no longer to solder anymore.
And also have doubts with the HDMI connector, I had it removed, and replace it if possible.

Is it easy to remove the hdmi connector? I only have a standard soldering iron, do I need specialist equipment?

Easy, it's never easy due the thin legs close together.
But see some examples on youtube, search there for hdmi port replacement
